Every day in the United States, over 5,000 children with chronic conditions are within the last six months of their lives. Many hospitals are providing high quality hospice and palliative care, but we dream of this care to be provided in a home setting, designed to support the family and friends, as well as the child.
Ladybug House is an official 501(c)(3) aiming to build and operate a freestanding, community-based palliative care home in Seattle. We will offer end-of-life care to children and young adults with life-limiting illnesses and family respite for rest and renewal from the daily demands of caring for a very ill child. We are striving to create a safe space full of love and respect where parents, siblings and friends will celebrate every day, every moment, and every life together.
In the United States, there are ONLY TWO palliative care/hospice homes for children. Our vision is to be the paragon of Pediatric Palliative Care and to inspire similar homes in cities across the country.
Ladybug House is more than a good cause; it is a necessity. Please join us in the effort to give every child the ability to Celebrate Every Day.
"If we cannot add days to the life of a child, we will add life to their days."
